Deep Dive at the Duomo

It’s our first full rainy weekend in Milan, so we decided to visit the Duomo and see the Cathedral and the adjacent museum.  Other than the scary top with its wet stone steps, I’d say it was a good way to spend a rainy day!

Playing with Porcini!

Timeline: 10:oo am, Friday morning. Thankfully Kevin got paid yesterday, because I practically spent his entire paycheck buying these fresh porcini mushrooms at the outdoor market!

Mushrooms worth their weight in silver (gold will be later, for truffles!)

Leisure in Lugano!

What a treat to hop on a train in Milan and an hour later arrive in a different country! We will be visiting Switzerland often, I predict!

A picture is worth a thousand words: Pinacoteca di Brera, First Visit!

So much to say, so little space! If you love art, history, religion, Napoleon, or beauty, you simply must visit this museum in the Brera district of Milan when you come here!

Fun at the Fondazione Prada Museum

Although most people probably think first of the Renaissance period when considering what era of art and artists to enjoy while in Milan, it should come as no surprise that the fashion and design capital of Italy also hosts a modern art museum that is very interesting both from a spatial perspective and in terms of the permanent and temporary exhibits it shows. It is called the Fondazione Prada.

La Sera in Brera- The evening in Brera

Today we decided to visit the artistic heart of the city, a section called the Brera district.
